The conversation of BE 1! is about what is needed to transform the Kansas City, Missouri School District (KCMSD). When someone has made the choice to invest themselves in our scholars -- to BE 1! -- they often become interested in sharing the story about this experience. It is from this interest that a BE 1! conversation is created -- an opportunity to share about their experience and invite others to invest in the lives of our scholars as well.

 

Because BE 1! works through grassroots relationship building (there are no BE 1! cold calls), the only time a conversation is created is when someone who has already made the choice to BE 1! (or is requesting to learn about how to BE 1!) makes it happen.

 

That said, conversations that are open to the public are listed on the BE 1! Calendar.

 

The intention of the conversation is the transformation of the KCMSD. This transformation occurs as thousands of people engage in the conversation and, from that participation, choose to invest in the lives of our scholars. Through widespread community engagement, the perception and the reality of the KCMSD begins to transform.
